Plymouth transforms into set of Woodsboro for ‘Scream 4′

A masked murderer has been terrorizing the sleepy hollow of fictional Woodsboro and its residents for three full horror films of Wes Craven’s Scream series now, and for his next installment, that setting will resemble the town of Plymouth, Mich.

Filming for Scream 4 has taken over downtown area recently, drawing interest from fans and celebrity spotters alike. Movie crews were on-hand July 19-20 in Plymouth’s Kellogg Park to shoot scenes from the upcoming movie.

Plymouth isn’t the only location of course. Scream 4 has also utilized a courthouse in nearby Livonia, a coffee shop in Northville, as well as locations in Ann Arbor and Dearborn. Stars Courteney Cox Arquette and David Arquette have been spotted and photographed on and near the set, as have Scream original cast members like Neve Campbell and newcomers Rory Culkin, Hayden Panettiere and Adam Brody.

According to an article in the Plymouth Observer, Staff Writer Matt Jachman reported:

The production brought more customers to downtown businesses. Craven was reportedly spotted at Starbucks on Tuesday morning.

“I had crew members in here,” on Monday, said Krista Diamond, a manager at Kilwin’s Plymouth, an ice cream and sweet shop. “It was like a steady stream of them for a while.”
